This one came to me as a huge surprise. I had some intolerance problems with ActiveGreens' green powder (tastes great though, unfortunately for me) but decided to give these a try and boy am I glad I did.
Vegan proteins have the disadvantage of not being very water soluble. It's ground up peas and such, which do not dissolve. They can be set in even suspension in large amounts of water, but the amount of powder used in a tall shaker bottle generally is insufficient to fully prevent clumping or rapid sedimentation. While these do not fully escape that natural disadvantage, they mix extremely well! After you shake the bottle up, as long as you don't leave it sitting for too long you will be able to fully consume the protein shake without leaving a bunch of settled clumps at the bottom!
The other thing that surprised me is the taste. I'm generally more of a vanilla flavor person, since I find the chocolate flavors (whey or vegan alike) off-putting. I love chocolate and chocolate milk, and chocolate proteins do not taste remotely like chocolate. While this one does have the distinctive taste of brown rice and such, I found it to be reminiscent of chocolates with types of cereals on them, which are less sweet and have a nice rich fragrance of cereals. I can say with absolute certainty that these are by far my favorite chocolate proteins.
Like most plant based protein, there will be less grams of protein per serving. But on the flip side, like most plant based protein these are very easy to digest unless you have intolerance towards some specific ingredients. It is nice to know how simple and straight forward the ingredient list is. Being also a Canadian product, and competitively priced to boot... what not to like! Unless you just want the most protein per serving... in which case, plant-based isn't what you're shopping for.
